A straight new smile for Christmas from Drayton Dental

These light, clear and almost imperceptible little chaps are all that stand between me and my new smile! After 53 years of wishing, it is finally going to happen and I couldn't be more thrilled!

You may have heard of Invisalign, a removeable almost invisible orthodontic system that gradually moves your teeth to their desired position. Personally, I think they were made for adults like me who missed out on braces as a child and who could not conceive of wearing the traditional metal braces.

I have only been wearing them a week - just 51 weeks to go! Regardless of their light and flexible form, wearing Invisalign braces does necessitate lifestyle changes. They must be worn 22/24 hours each day so no snacking and no more copious cups of tea. The good news is that my skin will improve as I drink more water and I will lose weight because I reserve eating to three times a day only. Other than that I am finding them comfortable and so far, there hasn't been any irritation or discomfort.

Specialist orthodontist, Dr Matthew Clare and Drayton Dental Care dentist, Vasiliki Stamatoukou, are taking care of my treatment so I'm in good hands.

I'm probably more excited about unwrapping my new smile next Christmas than I have been about waiting for any Christmas before and if you can recall how impatient you were for Christmas as a child, you will appreciate how I am feeling.
