Your denture treatment journey

Are you dreaming of a beautiful, functional smile?
Let's get started...

  • 1. Your denture consultation

During your initial consultation, your dentist will have a look at your teeth and mouth and ask you questions about your dental needs and requirements. They will explain the different types of dentures available to help you make the right decision for your own treatment.

  • 2. Ready to go ahead?

If you decide that dentures are for you, your dentist will discuss your full dental and medical history, take dental x-rays and clinical photographs, as well as digital impressions of your teeth and gums using our iTero scanner. Some patients may require the removal of some teeth prior to denture fitting - your dentist will explain what is necessary for your specific treatment plan.

  • 3. Fitting your dentures

Your dentures will be created in our dental laboratory. When they arrive back with us, we will book an appointment for you to ensure your new dentures fit securely and comfortably and that you are happy with the overall appearance of your new smile.

  • 4. Dental wellbeing

Great oral health is vital for dentures that look good for the long term. We recommend attending your regular dental health reviews and hygiene appointments to ensure that your teeth and gums remain healthy, and your dentures still fit well and are in good condition.

        What are dentures?

For patients with loose or missing teeth, dentures can be a great solution. Not only will they give you back your full smile, you will also be able to enjoy the full function of your teeth once again. This is vital for feeling confident in your everyday life.

Each set of dentures is tailormade in the dental laboratory, to fit you and suit your features. They are not permanently fixed in place and they should be removed for cleaning and while sleeping. Each set of dentures is bespoke made in the dental lab, meaning that your new smile will be crafted to perfectly fit you and suit your features.

At Drayton Dental Care we are pleased to offer both complete and partial dentures, depending on your needs. Complete dentures are required when all teeth in one arch require replacement. A partial denture is an option if just one or a few teeth are missing. Your dentist will explain your treatment options during your denture consultation.

        Natural looking dentures in Drayton

As we get older the colour of our teeth changes and they gradually darken. Dentures, where the teeth are too white, too uniform and too perfectly spaced, are an instant giveaway. We offer more natural-looking false teeth, to include tooth shades that look realistic.

Our dentures are made from hard-wearing material that mimics the look of teeth and gums to give your mouth a natural appearance. Your denture will be made to fit snugly on your gums and you will be able to remove it for cleaning.

        Don’t neglect your gums

It is important that you take extra care with your dental hygiene regime so that you can avoid bad breath, tooth decay and gum disease. Our hygienist will be able to show you the best way to take care of your denture and gums and will tell you about specialised brushes you can use to do this.
