Matthew Clare

Practice Owner, Specialist Orthodontist and Invisalign Diamond Provider
BDS, BSc (Hons), MFDS RCS (EDIN), MOrth RCS (EDIN), DDS
GDC no. 72274

I love orthodontic treatment because it combines art and science in equal measure. There is only one thing more satisfying to me than creating someone’s perfect smile – and that is seeing the look on their face when you show them the finished result!

My mother was a nurse at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital and my father was an artist, so being an orthodontist seemed like the most natural thing in the world to me. I love my job and I love working with the wonderful team at Drayton Dental Care. Above all, I value being able to contribute positively to people’s lives.

Professionally, since qualifying in 1996 at Guy’s Hospital in London, I have undertaken many years of study, including Specialist Orthodontic training in Bristol, where I held the post of Specialist Registrar in Orthodontics at the teaching hospital for three years. I have presented lectures both nationally and abroad, but I now concentrate on clinical cases, as that is where my real passion lies.

When I’m not in work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and twin children, ideally either playing tennis or skiing.

Carmen Pop

Invisalign Aesthetic Dentist
DMD, PGDip Romania (2004)
GDC number: 110196

I am a general dentist with a particular interest in orthodontics and aesthetic dentistry. I believe that taking the time to understand each patient’s needs and motivations is critical to creating the bespoke smile that they have always wanted.

I work to build a strong, trusting relationship with each patient and aim to achieve a natural-looking smile using modern, minimally-invasive techniques and evidence-based dentistry. I like to create a calm and comfortable environment conducive to helping anxious patients overcome their fears.

I graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry in Arad, Romania in 2004 and ever since I have been committed to deepening and broadening my knowledge, skills, and love of dentistry by completing a great number of advanced courses in orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry.

I have been providing orthodontic treatments with clear aligners since 2009 and I am also an Invisalign Clinical Advisor, mentoring and teaching other dentists on case treatment planning, while studying for an MSc degree in clear aligners at Bolton University.

Outside of work, I enjoy sports, travelling, music and spending time with my family… not necessarily in this order.

Vasiliki Stamatoukou

Dentist
DDS ATHENS (1999), PCERT ENDODONTICS CHESTER UNIVERSITY
GDC number: 226428

My main focus is my patients. I always devote time and energy to understanding their needs and offering them dental treatment in a relaxing manner, especially nervous patients and children. My patients say I am a calm dentist who engenders trust and strives to give them a comfortable, caring and relaxing experience.

I graduated from the Dental School of Athens University in 1999. I ran my own private practice in Greece until 2014, when my family and I decided to relocate to Norfolk - a place that felt like home from the first minute.

I have a special interest in clear aligner therapy, Invisalign. At Drayton Dental Care I have been working alongside our Specialist Orthodontist Dr Matt Clare, for 4 years, creating many beautiful smiles. I am currently doing a Diploma in Clear Aligner Therapy.

I also have a special interest in endodontics (root canal treatments), and I completed an advanced certificate in endodontic treatment in 2018. I love doing composite bonding and minimal preparation ceramic veneers.

Having experienced many changes in my life, I love getting involved in charity activities and events that aim to empower and inspire people to overcome difficulties and go after their aspirations.  I live in Norwich with my two sons.  Even though my working days are very busy and my studies make them even busier, I always make time to be with them and cook for them every day. I love to exercise at my favourite local gym, as it helps reduce my stress and allows me to stay active and healthy.

Montserrat Gasset Arrando

Dentist
Lic Odont University of Barcelona (2011)
GDC number: 268475

I pride myself on being a friendly dentist with the same dedicated approach to care as the rest of our team.

I studied dentistry at the University of Barcelona and went to Valencia to study the last course of my degree as part of a university exchange programme. After I graduated in 2011, I worked in Barcelona for five years before moving to England in 2016.

Since my graduation I have continued updating my knowledge of dentistry through studying endodontics, occlusion and rehabilitation, clear aligners and most recently implantology - always with the philosophy of carrying out minimally invasive dentistry wherever possible.

My goal is to provide high-quality treatment, to make you feel comfortable when you come to visit us, and build up a rapport so you don’t ever feel nervous having any treatment done.

From a young age I have had a love of music and play the piano and the guitar. I also enjoy painting, which I have found to be a great therapy for stress relief and mindfulness. In my spare time, I love to cook and to travel with my partner and find new places to walk with our dog.

Detelina Kovacheva

Dentist
DDM Sofia (2000)
GDC number: 145779

Being a dentist has always been my dream and I have followed in my family’s footsteps of working in the profession. I graduated from the Medical University of Sofia in 2000 and worked in private practice in Bulgaria until moving to the UK with my family in 2008. Since then, I have had several roles in Norfolk treating both NHS and private patients.

I am a gentle, sympathetic and caring dentist and believe dental treatment can be a pleasant and stress-free experience. I am always ready to listen to your concerns and am keen to work with you to achieve the best for your dental health. I will help you feel confident and keep smiling.

I enjoy all aspects of dentistry and always strive to deliver treatments to the highest standards. I continue to upgrade my dental skills and knowledge by regularly taking part in courses and getting familiar with new materials and techniques.

I enjoy treating patients using Cfast, a fixed and effective way to straighten teeth in the smile zone (the front six teeth) and have recently attended a Smilefast course - a ground-breaking new concept delivering excellent aesthetic results. I am also interested in new scientific research, such as how lifestyle and nutrition can increase longevity and help reduce chronic disease.

In my spare time I enjoy walking in the Norfolk countryside, swimming, relaxing in the sauna, and spending time with my family.

Kalpana Patel

Dentist
BDS (India) 2000
GDC number: 155079

I qualified as a Batchelor of Dental Surgery in India in 2000 and then relocated to the UK and completed my Overseas Registration examination conducted by the General Dental Council. Since arriving in the UK, I have worked at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, James Paget Hospital and at Siskin Dental Centre performing minor oral surgeries and assisting with major operations, including trauma, and providing treatment for anxious patients.

I am very gentle and caring in my approach and will always endeavour to make you feel comfortable, at ease and fully in control of your treatment. I will explain all the treatment options carefully and in detail, so that you can make an informed decision about the best treatment to suit your needs.  As well as a passion for general dentistry, I have a particular interest in oral surgery and endodontics.  Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, wild photography, and I love watching cricket.
