These light, clear and almost imperceptible little chaps are all that stand between me and my new smile! After 53 years of wishing, it is finally going to happen and I couldn't be more thrilled!

You may have heard of Invisalign, a removeable almost invisible orthodontic system that gradually moves your teeth to their desired position. Personally, I think they were made for adults like me who missed out on braces as a child and who could not conceive of wearing the traditional metal braces.

I have only been wearing them a week - just 51 weeks to go! Regardless of their light and flexible form, wearing Invisalign braces does necessitate lifestyle changes. They must be worn 22/24 hours each day so no snacking and no more copious cups of tea. The good news is that my skin will improve as I drink more water and I will lose weight because I reserve eating to three times a day only. Other than that I am finding them comfortable and so far, there hasn't been any irritation or discomfort.
