Government watchdogs praise Drayton Dental Care

September 18, 2019

Drayton Dental Care has been given a clean bill of health by government health watchdogs, the Care Quality Commission. Our School Road practice was visited by CQC inspectors in August to check on the care and welfare of our patients, our cleanliness and the infection control systems we have in place.

The CQC is a government body that regulates and inspects health and social care services in England and this Review of Compliance is something that all dental practices in England have to undergo. Our dental practice near Norwich received fantastic feedback on the day and was found to be ‘compliant’ in all areas – the highest level our team could achieve - following the thorough assessment, which also saw staff and patients interviewed.

The inspector found that: “The practice had strong, effective leadership and a culture of continuous audit and improvement. Staff felt involved and supported and worked well as a team. We received 12 comment cards that had been completed by patients prior to our inspection. All the comments received reflected high patient satisfaction with the quality of their dental treatment.” Patients commented positively that staff were helpful, friendly and understanding. One patient told us, ‘Care has been amazing, and I have been treated very well in every respect. I even had a phone call the next day to see how I was’. Another stated, ‘the staff are really kind and caring and always willing to listen to your problem. I always feel relaxed and happy when I leave’. One patient told us, ‘I have always been able to discuss treatment options’, another, ‘I am always listened to and treatment is explained very well to me’.”

Drayton Dental Care practice manager, Sophie Hussey said: “We are delighted with the CQC’s findings and are particularly proud of the comments made by some of our patients, which show that we are achieving our aims of providing excellent dental care to our community.”
